Thoughts and experiences from this simple creature, called Chris. How well do you know him? Do you even care? Probably less so, after reading this:

Pack it up, pack it in, let me begin: karaoke night!

Mark, the 'BearF*cker' and I spent part of our last day together in karaoke, destroying some great songs like only we can.
Before the karaoke, we met in Mr.Donuts.
BF and I wore our favourite t-shirts, kindly given to us by Sean 'Doogie Howzer' Heffron, a few years ago. We proudly display our 'special friendship' for all to see:

In karaoke, BF attempted mostly Japanese songs.
Way to go, dude!
As proof that he sang Japanese, here's a photo with some Japanese lyrics:

Mark wasn't at all shy in belting out a few numbers, either:

Here are a few videos, as proof that neither of us should be allowed near a microphone, ever again.

Mark singing 'Rock the Kasbah', by The Clash:

I'm afraid I destroyed it with my silliness.
But we had a laugh and that's what's important. Karaoke in Japan is almost always in this style. You hire out a small room (a Karaoke 'box') for around 500yen an hour and then just sing your silly hearts out.

BF belts out L'arc en Ciel's Blurry Eyes, with a little 'help' from a certain Welsh monkey. I think I should have just shut up and let him sing. He did a good job. This song is special for BF, myself and another old friend (Sean, you know who you are). We used to sing this almost every time we went to karaoke so of course, we HAD to sing it this time. Who know when the boys will be together again...

...and here's the real thing:

The boys have to finish the song before the drummer's cigarette is finished (can't see how he gets rid of the ashes, but then Japanese music is all about image, not often practical things like quality of singing etc. Don't get me wrong, I like L'arc en ciel. Think Hide is an okay singer. Almost the Japanese 'Prince' - about 2 foot tall and a sex symbol - maybe he's unproportionally 'large')

BF does Utada - or Utada does BF (in his dreams). I'm not sure...

Mark again and singing the 'get down, get down, funky' song (I can't remember the name of it).
I provide the irritating commentary. Apologies once more:

Mark helps to take us out with a classic from my fellow Welshman, Tom Jones.
Well, It's Not Unusual.

We had a great evening.
After karaoke, we went to the local sento (public hot bath):

Uh...the picture was a poster in the entrance to the baths. I didn't take my camera into the baths to photograph naked little boys (in case you were thinking that).

It was the first time for BF to get naked with us - I mean go to a public bath in Japan. Also I don't mean to insinuate that Mark and I get naked together. Okay, now that's settled... The three of us had an interesting time. Have great memories of Mark sitting in the 'relaxing massage water chair', only to find out how 'relaxing' the electically charged chair can be! He sat in the area with the high electrical field (It's supposed to be good for you? How all your muscles spasming, your body contorting and your heart being shocked is good for you, I don't know.)
430yen for a variety of bathing choices including a radium bath (big steaming bath smelling and looking like p*ss), several air jet massage selections, the afore mentioned electric chair, a cold bath, an outside open air bath, a sauna and a steam room. Male and female baths are seperate.

Also in the entrance you may see the wanted poster.
They list several most wanted criminals in Japan. The list ranges from Aum Shinriko members to murderers and ex English teachers:

I recommend trying one out if you are in Japan. Very relaxing.
The guys had a great time and we got back to my home around midnight. Had a relaxing conversation then the guys hit the hay. It's now 4 am so I should go to sleep soon.
Got to put up posts about yesterday and last night (Saturday). Another interesting evening.
